This week we will continue talking about more curiosities of the wine world, exposing data that many of us do not know.
First of all, it is worth mentioning that the sector manages to attract almost 3 million visitors throughout the year thanks to the guided visits to wineries and the different museums and activities of the national wine routes. In fact, all these visits represent a contribution to the national economy of almost 80 million euros annually.
At the same time, it is estimated that the sector invests, on average, between 170 and 180 million euros a year in projects carried out and developed in R&D&I, which shows the arduous efforts of wineries to innovate and differentiate themselves.
On the other hand, as we know, wine has been part (and has been part) of the Mediterranean Diet since ancient times. In fact, as several studies have shown, a controlled and moderate intake of wine can be beneficial to health, due to its antioxidant activities, among others.
Finally, we would like to mention that the wine sector is, unlike many others, present in all the autonomous communities, being one of the key sectors that fight against the depopulation of rural areas.
That said, here ends this article focused on other curious facts about the wine world, in the next article we will talk about the history of wine in modern times.
