We agree that we are all wine lovers, but how much do we know about the world of wine? Stay with us and discover all the curiosities and facts about this fascinating world.

First of all, we believe it is important to mention that Spain is the country with the most hectares of vineyards in the world, with almost 1 million hectares in total, representing 13% of all vineyards worldwide. At the same time, the average annual national production of wine and must is between 40 and 42 million hectoliters, that is, approximately 4,000,000,000,000 liters. This places us as the 3rd producer country worldwide, behind Italy and France, who occupy the first and second place with almost 49 million and 47 million hectoliters respectively.

On the other hand, it is worth mentioning the contribution that Spanish wineries make to the national economy, since it is estimated that the total turnover of the sector amounts to 5,381 million euros per year, which represents 2.2% of the GVA (gross value added). Finally, we would like to mention the incredible international vocation of Spanish wineries, which, being almost 4,300 in total, 3,075 of them export their products to around 190 countries, which means that 71.5% of the wineries sell wines and musts in other countries.
